A call to all our residents and businesses to show how big our hearts are to support two great causes.
First, the Mayor’s Youth Council is holding its 3rd Annual Snack Drive for the patients at Children’s of Mississippi. Just about any single serve or individually wrapped, non-perishable snacks will do. They also need pill school items which uses candy to teach kids how to take medicine. We will be accepting donations the entire month of March at City Hall from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. Last year we were able to fill an entire fire truck and look forward to filling two this time!
Second is the March of the Mayors Food Drive. Mayor Jake Windham has joined five other metro mayors in a challenge to collect food for food pantries. Each city was assigned a specific item to collect, Pearl has canned corn. You can donate as many cans of corn as you like at City Hall or the Senior Services Center located behind the Library on Valentour Road.
Let’s again show why Pearl has the greatest and most caring citizens to the metro-area and the entire state!
