The “Jewel of the Crossroads”
The City of Pearl is nestled along four transportation arteries in Mississippi: Interstate 55 and Interstate 20, U.S. Highways 80 and 49., and also provides easy access to national and international destinations with the Jackson-Evers International Airport in our backyard.
Pearl has been designated a member of the Mississippi Main Street Association and is a superior place to live, work and play.

The Pearl Public School District is prestigiously “A” rated by the Mississippi Department of Education. We are consistently rated among the safest cities in the state. Our city staff provides first-class service at every level from Police and Fire, to Public Works, Parks and Recreation to Senior Services and Community Development. Pearl is also blessed to have its own TV and radio broadcast stations in Pearl Municipal Broadcasting (PMB) TV and 104.3 FM “The Pirate”.

Winter Weather Closures for Fri. Feb. 19:
Slowly but surely the ice is melting, but not fast enough to get back to normal just yet. Temperatures will dip back into the teens tonight which will cause a refreeze. Please use extreme caution if you are traveling tonight or in the morning. The following is a list...
City Offices and Municipal Court Closed Thursday, Feb. 18. and No Garbage Pick-Up
All City Administrative Offices and Municipal Court will be closed Thursday, February 18. All cases have been rescheduled for March 11.
Water Bill Payment Due Date Extended
All water bill payment due dates have been extended a week until Feb. 24 due to the weather.
I-20 Closed Between Hwy 49 and Hwy 18/Crossgates Due to Ice
Tuesday 7 pm: City of Pearl and MDOT have closed I-20 between exit 47 (Hwy 49) and exit 54 (MS-Hwy 18) in both directions. The ramps and interstate have completely iced over making them impassable. Hope to re-open Wednesday morning as conditions permit.
Second Winter Storm Possible Wednesday
We are on the edge of another winter storm expected Wednesday afternoon. Right now the effects to Pearl look minimal but please be prepared.
No Garbage Pick-Up Wednesday
No trash pick-up again Wednesday due to dangerous road conditions. Thursday is to be determined.
City Offices Closed Tuesday
City offices will be closed tomorrow, Tuesday, Feb. 16, due to the iced over roadways.
Heavy Icing Expected Tonight into Monday
The worst of the winter weather is yet to come...Forecasts call for up to 1/2" of ice beginning overnight-through Mon. That will be followed by record setting temps. Be prepared, stay warm and stay put!
No Garbage Pick-Up Monday
There will be no garbage pick-up on Monday due to the winter storm. Tuesday is to-be-determined.
Winter Storm Warning for Pearl
